Ian gave an interesting talk on how the
radio waves and the ionosphere were discovered. He revealed
that radio waves were first discovered by mathematics!
Our summer satellite station is now setup.
To avoid local QRM (Club chatter) it is on a table outside the
club with a LARGE 12V battery PSU.
February 2008
We now have our mast installed next
to our building so are getting nearer to being a proper radio
club again!
At the moment training sessions for the
amateur licence are in progress, the students range from
sub-teenage to mature.

March 14th 2008. Above, Peter is now M3WYU,
with Bob, G4ADK, one of our tutors.
Peter hoped to surprise his Dad, G7MAR, with a satellite
contact. John was away at sea with his own satellite
equipment, but is back now.

Peter is now looking to do his Advanced
course, it seems possible that courses may be done on
Tuesdays.

On the left Charlie, M3YPP, another
recently licensed member who is aiming to get more youngsters interested.
He is teaching them morse! Good for passing "secret"
messages.
